CREATOR'S RETREAT IN ATLANTA 11/11/2017

September 29, 2017

DYNAMIC PRODUCER Taps Executives From REACH RECORDS and VICELAND To Launch CREATOR’S RETREAT Event Series Membership based organization and production music library aims to shake up the monotony of the traditional music conference by launching Creator’s Retreat, an event where music creators network with high level music curators for the opportunity to land game changing synchronization and recording deals. Music Producers, Singer Songwriters, Composers and Recording Artists from around the globe are invited to attend Creator’s Retreat on Saturday, November 11, 2017 in order to network, create and pitch music live for Lasanna “ACE” Harris, Director of A&R at Reach Records and Matthew Hearon-Smith, Senior Music Supervisor at VICELAND.

The event will take place at the new AC Hotel Atlanta Buckhead at Phipps Plaza. “It’s hard to network with anyone who’s sitting behind a velvet rope on a panel,” recounts Felisha Booker, Founder of Creator’s Retreat, after attending a popular music conference. Unlike other events, which are packed with hundreds or even thousands of attendees to every one speaker, Creator’s Retreat provides an intimate environment for learning and relationship building. Speakers aren’t rushing out the back door and attendees are given a chance to make multiple impressions.

“We held the Dynamic Producer Conference for 16 years and early on made a name for ourselves by hosting notables such as Kanye West, Trey Songz, and John Legend. As the business and technology changed, we knew a pivot in what we were providing was imminent. By the latter years, everything about our event, from the name to the experience began to transform, until I ultimately decide to just kill off the old and start anew.” states Booker. Creator’s Retreat will begin with a Track Rally to get everyone amped up and ready for the day, followed by a catered lunch. Attendees will then attend afternoon Masterclass Discussions led by the guest A&R and Music Supervisor. By mid-afternoon, creators will power up their workstations to start creating music for immediate sync and artist placement opportunities. “Music Creators are struggling to monetize their music and while the streaming services typically grab the headlines, what about the networking challenges encountered by creatives who have to be more than creative? They have had to become extremely knowledgeable in business and effective networking is at the cornerstone” explains Booker. Networking at Creator’s Retreat is plentiful. Guest speakers are present much of the day. They visit workstations and make themselves available to answer questions related to their current music needs. Speakers will also do some early listening for select attendees, before the evening portion of the event begins. A Live Pitch Session culminates the night and attendees are provided with immediate reactions and feedback.

A soft launch of Creator’s Retreat took place in Atlanta, GA on July 28, 2017 and welcomed Jen Malone, Music Supervisor for Atlanta (FX), Are You The One (MTV), Baskets (FX), Step Up: Highwater (YouTube Red) and most recently announced, The Resident (Fox). During the event, Jen Malone expressed her excitement about Creator’s Retreat by stating “THANK YOU for having me here; been meeting some amazing, talented musicians and producers. I am so excited to keep hearing some more great songs.” ABOUT CREATOR’S RETREAT Creator’s Retreat is an event that brings an intimate group of music creators together with industry professionals working in A&R and Sync, to network, create music on demand and pitch live for placement opportunities.
