LET'S MAKE HISTORY !

Join us on Thursday, February 8th, 2018

@ 8:30am - 1:00 pm at the Georgia State Capitol as we stand for equal work and equal pay for women in the workplace. As you have seen for many years and lately in the entertainment industry, women are fighting for equal pay against male colleagues. Stand with us wearing hot pink and black and we go in front of congress requesting an amendment of the bill.

If you are interested in participating in this historical event please respond ASAP so you can be added to the flyer and sent a formal event. Press and media will be in attendance.

WHAT THE EQUAL RIGHTS AMENDMENT, E.R.A. DOES:

  • Grant legal first-class citizenship to all females as “persons” under the 14th Amendment.

  • Require the revision of present laws that discriminate on the basis of sex.

  • Prevent Congress and state legislatures from weakening or abolishing equal rights laws such as Title IX.

  • Make unconstitutional the enactment of discriminatory laws in the future.

  • Require the defendant, in a sex discrimination suit, to prove that different treatment on the basis of sex is justified rather than requiring the individual bringing the suit to prove it is unjustified.

  • Require equal employment opportunity for women in federal, state, and local government.

  • Assure that if Congress decides to draft women – as it can without the E.R.A. – women will not be required to serve in position to which they are not physically suited, nor under stricter standards than men. Neither could women be denied equal benefits accruing from military service.

  • Require the same criminal penalties for women and men and the same rehabilitation opportunities.

  • Answers- Who am I? The Equal Rights Amendment taskforce impacts public policy by writing legislation, advocating for women, and partnering with networks for the equality of all Women. When: Thursday, February 8, 2018.
